Why These Turkeys Circling A Dead Cat Remind Us How Amazing Nature Can Be

Jonathon Davis was on his way to work when he came upon the bizarre scene. A flock of more than 15 turkeys were filmed circling around a dead cat in the middle of a busy road Thursday outside Boston. Animal Planet’s David Mizejewski spoke to Inside Edition about the awkward video. Davis posted the video on Twitter with the caption: “These turkeys trying to give this cat its tenth life” and it went viral in a flash. Some are calling it a “death dance.”

  1. The expert analysis ( from Alan Krakauer, a biologist at the University of California):
"Sometimes, animals lower down in the food chain approach predators — a behavior that can be seen as risky, but can actually help the prey. Making the predator aware that the prey know it’s there can sometimes scare the predator away. The “inspection” also allows the prey to check how determined the predator is to attack, and can alert other animals to the danger."

So basically, they perceived the cat as a threat, and they wanted to scare it or make it aware they're not afraid.

  2. Yeah thats fine just record these turkeys circling a cat
dont go check on it to see if its injured and needs help and is still alive
just keep recording for views ya know the cats fine.. hes just sleeping
"thats the craziest thing ive ever seen" Oh really well wtf is wrong with you brooo
I mean come on you could have atleast tried to help the cat but you stood there recording those freaking ugly ass birds yep nature is truely beautiful
